Hi AM Families-
We are off to a great start in Kinder! We had SO much fun this week.
On our 1 hour day on Wednesday, we colored, learned each other's names, read a book, and played a little! It was so nice to see everyone playing together on the very first day!

On Thursday we did a scavenger hunt around the room to learn about all the different parts and what we do there. We also found The Cat in the Hat, our class mascot! We read The Kissing Hand, and painted or traced our hands to give to our families. We also talked about all our different feelings on the first day. We went outside to play and take our "first day" pictures, and played a little in the room as well.
Friday was all about No David! We read David Goes to School (as well as other No David books) and went on a scavenger hunt around Indian Trail. We met all of our specials teachers and Dr. Grable too! We collected all different objects to remind us what we saw (a music note stamp from Mrs. Luthardt in music, a bookmark from Mrs. Grost are librarian, a band-aid from Nurse Robin, etc.) We also talked about green and red choices, and how we are going to make green (good) choices in Kindergarten! And of course, we did some more playing inside and outside.
The goal of our first weeks of school is to get to know each other, our classroom, our school, and establish routine. I love seeing the students play SO nicely together, and I already anticipate a WONDERFUL year together :)
