Our last full week of school!
In literacy, we wrapped up our vet center this week. We spent some time at the beginning of the week working on our writing and practicing filling out the vet form. We talked about filling it out fully, writing in complete sentences, and using capitalization and punctuation. We enjoyed going to the centers one last time, and then reflected on how it went, how we collaborated together, and how we asked questions.
We also read Oh! the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss this week. We talked about all the places they will be going soon (summer, first grade) and what they want to be when they grow up. We wrote about it, and made hot air balloons to hang in the hallway. They turned out so cute, will send them home on the last day.

In math this week we combined shapes with measurement and data. On Monday we made a giant graph with our learning carpet using our pictures. The students then did their own graphing of 3-D shapes. The students also practiced composing their own shapes, following a pattern block pattern, and then counting and graphing how many shapes they used. Lastly, we read How Big is a Foot? and talked about the different ways you can measure something, and the type of measurement words the students know (tall, short, long, etc).
We got outside almost every day this week! So many great friendships were formed this year, and I can't wait to see them grow as they all move to first grade together :)
I refuse to believe we only have 6 days left together. We are going to make them extra fun!
