Jolly Phonics and sight word (first 6) will be assessed Monday (3/7).
This week in Room 124...
In literacy we dove into new centers. The focus this week was reviewing our Jolly Phonics sounds and our 6 sight words. Centers included a find and write sight word hunt, stamping words with our Jolly sounds and blends, a domino math game, listening to reading, Raz Kids on the ipads, and guided reading with me.
With our usual Monday journals we practiced peer editing. We split the class into "I detectives" and "period police". We talked about how "I" at the beginning of a sentence, or when it is a word, needs to be capitalized. We then talked about making sure there was a period at the end of our sentences when the thought was complete. The students then switched papers and edited each other's. They did great with this!
A perfect Friday :)
